My Personal Goals For 2021



Most people set goals or make new years resolutions every year. But this year has a feeling of uncertainty about it. Should we or shouldn't we forge ahead with our usual goals? Some of us may feel like what is the point?


Most of our goals for 2020 were tossed aside and forgotten as we tried to deal with the new realities we were facing.


But I say yes, we should set some goals to focus our minds and give us some direction. No matter what this new year brings, we can try and make it better than last year. Enjoy the little things and keep a positive mindset.


My word for the year will be 'positive.' I plan to always look for the positive in every situation. Focus on the positive in life.


I have made a shortlist of goals that I am going to work on this year.


Increase My exercise. Since having a heart attack last spring, exercise is a priority. But I find myself slacking a bit. So daily exercise has to be a significant focus for me. It will be a top priority for me.


Changing my diet-My goal is to reach at least eating healthy 75% of the time. That is one of my biggest challenges. Suddenly I am battling watching my salt, fat, and sugar. And that is so very hard for me. It will be baby steps. And I am sure there will be days when I fail miserably. But I will not give up. I received an air fryer for Christmas, and I am anxious to try it out.


I want to get serious about decluttering. We have way too much stuff. Most of which is never used. One day we may decide to move and downsize, and I don't want to be overwhelmed. I have been working on it. So I have at least made some progress. Sadly, I am not sure there is any hope of getting my husband to start getting rid of some of his...well, I will just say his prized possessions. His many, many treasured possessions.


Spend more time with friends. Enjoying time with friends is one of those things we had to put on hold for most of last year. My fingers are crossed that soon we will able to socialize a bit more. I am anxious to reconnect with friends that I haven't been able to see in many months. I miss my lunches and dinners with friends. But mostly the conversations.


I might as well add a blogging goal while I am at it. I want to improve the content of my blog and increase my blog traffic. So, I will be looking to more experienced bloggers for some help. There are really some great bloggers who know all the ins and outs of creating a successful blog—tons of knowledge out there.

I look forward to learning and growing my blog.


To make myself accountable for achieving my goals, I plan on doing a monthly update post on my progress. Posting the updates will hopefully help with my motivation when it begins to fade.
