I know a lot of people are not fans of getting up early. But I find getting up early in the morning gives me a head start on my day. And I am much more productive first thing in the morning. It's nice to be the only one up and about. Your early morning time is your own uninterrupted time that belongs only to you. You and your coffee. I love my early mornings.

Benefits of getting up early:

No rushing-No need to start your day rushing around like crazy. If you start your day off rushing around, it can affect your mood for the whole day. Enjoy your cup of coffee. Maybe catch up on the news or enjoy watching the sun come up.

Exercise- Get it done early, and then you don't have to force yourself to get it down at the end of the day. Yeah, I know some people prefer exercising after work. But I am not one of them. But to each their own. I do think doing some form of exercise first thing in the morning helps get you moving and gives you some added energy.

An added health benefit is you have more time to sit down and enjoy a good breakfast before starting your day.

Productivity-Most morning people will tell you that the most productive time of the day for them is first thing in the morning. They are energized and ready to go. You are more alert, and your concentration is sharper. Nothing or no one to distract you helps keep you focused.

More Energy-If you getting up at 5:30 am chances are that you are not staying up very late. You get up early, and you go to bed early. You're getting enough sleep, and you wake up refreshed and ready for your day.

I have found that with my early to bed early to rise routine, I sleep much better. And I find that the mid-afternoon slump doesn't hit me as hard.

Happier-Morning people tend to be happier than say night owls. I wonder if the reason might be night owls struggle more through their day. Maybe it's the agony of hitting that dang snooze button over and over. Or could there be something about the early morning sun that makes us morning people happier?

Then again maybe night owls and morning people are just happier each in their way — no big mystery just what we each prefer.

No need for an alarm clock-Your body will be your alarm clock, and there is no need for a snooze button. Even before becoming a morning person, I never hit the snooze button. I figured it was only dragging out the torture of getting up. Seriously, you will be happier not dealing with hitting the snooze button.

Once you become a morning person, you will never want to go back. I can't think of one downside to being a morning person.

I like the quiet; the time to do what I want to do. It's a good feeling knowing I am in no rush. It's just my time.

"Morning is an important time of day because how you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have." Lemony Snicket
