Starting The New Year

The start of a new year is exciting to me. What will the new year bring? Good things, I hope. I am not making resolutions, but I set a few goals.

The first goal is to get back on track with my diet and exercise. Exercise and healthy eating have fallen to the wayside lately. I mentioned this as one of my goals in an earlier post.

Secondly, I need to work on productivity. My attention span seems to be about zero. I go from one thing to the next in a matter of just minutes. At the end of the day, I have Accomplished pretty much nothing. I am sure my young granddaughters have a greater attention span than I do.

I plan to give time blocking a try. I have read great things about it. And it appears to be a good idea. At this point, I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I also have a few things; I need to stop doing and a few things I need to start doing.

Things I need to stop doing-

I need to stop interrupting people when they are speaking. It is a nasty habit of mine. I know it is rude and I hate the fact that I catch myself doing. Unfortunately, I don't check myself soon enough. But I will start listening more and interrupting less.

I need to stop sitting for such long periods in front of the computer. I am going to start setting a timer to remind me to get up and move.

Things I need to start doing-

I need to socialize more. Lately, I seem to want to be a homebody. When I am out anywhere, I am anxious to get back home. Why I don't know.

I also need to start keeping my desk more organized and neat. It is much easier to get things done when you are working in a nice organized area. I will add clearing off the desk in my time blocking schedule.
