Lets Do Some Random Acts Of Kindness
"You can't help everyone, but everyone can help someone."
Ronald Reagan
In today's stressed out chaotic world, we need to share all the kindness we can. I don't know about you, but when I pass someone going into the grocery store, and they smile and say hi. It makes me feel pretty good. So it stands to reason. If I do that same thing, I can make someone feel good if only for a few seconds.
There are so many little things that will cost nothing or very little. Sometimes just the small gesture that cost nothing can mean more than some grand gesture.
Be kind, be generous, and show it in little ways.
Ideas for random acts of kindness:
Buy a random person a coffee or even breakfast. Going through the Tim Horton drive through in the morning pick up the tab for the car behind you. Something tells me, that person's day is off to a great start. And all thanks to you. He will be telling everyone for days about the kind person who paid for his coffee.
Holding a door is the simplest thing you can do. But it can be so appreciated.
Make it to a point to smile at everyone you encounter during the day. I have said it before, and I will keep saying it. Your smile can be contagious. Oh, sure there is occasionally that grumpy person that nothing you do could make them smile. But you will find that the majority of people will grace you with their smile in return.
Donate to a local animal shelter. If you are an animal lover, this one should be easy for you. They always need pet food and blankets. Maybe you could even bring one of those shelter animals into your home to become a member of the family.
Donate to a women's shelter. Women's shelters can always use things like:
Clothing
Health and beauty items
Cell phones
Bus passes
Donate to a food bank.
Canned goods of all kinds. Fruits, Vegetables, canned tuna, and chicken.
Bottled water
toiletries
Your time.
Make it a point to compliment a few people during the day. It doesn't take long to say what pretty earrings or I love that coat. Maybe they have a beautiful smile. Tell them.
Surprise a friend with something you know they love! A special treat or some flowers. Or just a visit.
If you put your mind to it, I bet you can come up with other ways to share random acts of kindness.
And don't forget smile!
