Fall Has Arrived

The trees are in their glory showing off their vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow leaves. What a great time to take long leisurely drives in the country or a nice hike and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Kids love to throw the fall leaves into the air, pile them up and run through them — innocent, childlike fun. We all have memories of doing that.

No more shorts and bathing suits it’s time to get out our warm fleecy clothing. Hoodies, and cute toasty knit sweaters. Warm fuzzy socks. Drinks go from lemonade and ice tea to Pumpkin spice lattes, hot chocolate, and cider. Nothing says fall like an outdoor party. Sitting around a bonfire and enjoying the feel of the crisp air. Music and conversation with friends.

And how about an indoor party for one or maybe with a special someone. A crackling fire in the fireplace, cuddling under a nice warm throw, a big bowl of buttered popcorn and a good movie. It doesn’t get much better than that.

And we even change our bedding. Now, its fleece sheets, down comforters and electric blankets.

Our activities now include a trip to the cider mill where you can enjoy the fragrant aroma of warm donuts and hot cider. Then go on a hayride or maybe a journey through a corn maze. And don’t forget to make a trip to the pumpkin patch where the perfect pumpkin awaits you.

For the football fans, it means nonstop football. Friends and family are gathering together, sharing pizza and beer and cheering on their favorite team. And maybe try some of the new fall flavors of craft beer and some tailgating.

And fall also brings a new season of television. TV fans have been anxiously awaiting for the return of their favorite shows. And just as eagerly anticipating to see what the new shows will bring.

And for the thrill seekers, the scary sounds, skeletons and faux body parts of the haunted houses are a Halloween tradition

It’s abundantly clear there are lots of marvelous things to enjoy during the fall season.

But for me, I’m a summer girl! I will be counting down the days to sunshine, barbecues and the beach.
