How To Start The New Year Off Right.

THIS CAN BE YOUR YEAR!

A Healthy And Happy Start To The New Year.

A new year is a perfect time to start thinking about getting and staying healthy. And the older you get, the more you will appreciate anything you can do to keep healthy and fit.

Maybe you're already into the healthy living thing. But a lot of us, I think, tend to lose our way now and again. And a new year is the perfect time to get back on track. And maybe this will be the year it will stick.

Start moving. You don't have to go to the gym every day. But you do need to move your body. Don't just sit on the couch and look at your phone. Get walking. But please don't be looking at your phone when you are walking. That could be dangerous to your health. Do some walking videos in the privacy of your own home if you don't want to leave your nice warm house. Just move!

There are lots of exercise videos available on Youtube you can try. Just keep trying until you find something you like. Exercise doesn't have to require a gym membership or the perfect workout clothes.

Do some light weight training, try a few push-ups. Start gaining a little muscle.

Do some stretching. It will help with muscle stiffness.

Do you need to lose a few pounds? Get to it! Not only will you feel better, but you will look better. Try to eat a healthy, well-balanced diet at least 75-80% of the time.

Get more social. And no, I am not talking about social media. Get out and hang out with people in person. Have a conversation instead of texting. Just put your phone away for a few hours. You will be a much happier person.

Well, happier as long as you're not socializing with the kind of people who will bring you down. Spend time with the right type of people. You know who they are. Spend some time with some old friends and maybe make some new friends.

Better yet, take a daily walk with a friend. Good conversation and some exercise. Great combination.

There can be no better way to start off the new year than spending time with friends and taking steps to have a healthy fit life.
