"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring."
I am sharing some of my rambling thoughts about being yourself.
None of us are perfect. We have all done and said things we know we shouldn't have. But, I suppose that's part of being yourself. We are all flawed. And we all have our weird ways.
I think the world would be a better place if everyone just stayed true to themselves. Be yourself. Don't be trying to impress anyone or change yourself to please someone.
Don't worry about what anyone thinks of you? What you feel about yourself is what is essential.
You can't feel good about yourself if you're always trying to please everyone else.
Like yourself for who you are and what you stand for. Don't worry about how others may judge you. It's all about what feels right for you.
Don't judge yourself harshly because you don't like your looks or your weight. Nobody is perfect. When you look at photos of others who appear perfect in every way, remember a thing called photoshop exists, and it is extensively used. We are all beautiful in our way.
Remember your good traits and your strengths. Build on all the good things you have going for you.
Embrace and appreciate who you are. You are unique. Just be your crazy happy self.
People do admire those that march to the beat of a different drummer. Many are even envious. It can take courage to be yourself. Why spend all your time being someone else? Why? That sounds like an awful lot of work.
So do all those little crazy things that are so much a part of you. I am saying don't hide your quirks,
It's okay to walk to the beat of your own drummer.
Tell that stupid joke.
If you want pink hair, then you should have pink hair. Or purple or orange.
If you want to go out in your PJ's, do it. I have a feeling you may not be the only one out and about in their PJs.
Dance like Elaine from the Seinfeld TV series.
Splash through the rain puddles if that is what you enjoy. It works for little kids.
Put your Christmas tree up when you want to put it up.
Keep your Christmas lights up all year. There is nothing wrong with keeping the Christmas spirit alive all year long.
If you like white shoes, wear white shoes all year long. Wear mismatched socks or no socks. They are your feet so dress them as you want.
Eat ice cream for dinner. Or maybe pizza for breakfast. Eat whatever you feel like eating and whenever you feel like eating it.
So how about challenging yourself today to just be you? Not the you that everyone thinks you should be. But the real you. All of us need to be just us. Take us or leave us.
Don't be someone else's version of yourself. Just be you.
"Don't let others box you into their idea of what they think you should be. A confined identity is a miserable way to exist. Be you and live free. Trust that in living true to yourself, you will attract people that support and love you, just as you are."
"A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself-and, especially to feel, or not feel. Whatever you happen to be feeling at any moment is fine with them. That's what real love amounts to – letting a person be what he really is."
