My Plan For Improving My Health And Fitness In 2022

My Plan For Improving My Health And Fitness In 2022

I gave up years ago on the idea of setting New Year's resolutions. Goals didn't work for me either. So this year, I am taking another approach.

This year is going to be my year of achieving a healthy lifestyle. But it's going to be filled with a ton of baby steps. Step by step slowly, but surely. One minor change at a time.

A sure way to fail at creating a healthy lifestyle would be an all-or-nothing approach. Too many changes at one time are just setting me up for failure.

I fully realize the importance of healthy eating, aerobic exercise, and strength training. Now, I need to start doing it.

A little over a year and a half ago, I suffered a heart attack. I now have two stents. Things have been going well. And I want things to continue to go well. I need to be more consistent with my exercise and diet.

As I start my small steps to a healthy living journey, I plan to journal daily on how I am doing and how I am feeling. Hopefully, I will be boasting about my successes. No, forget; hopefully, I WILL be bragging about my success.

There may be some tears shed when I am less than successful. Fingers crossed for more bragging and only a few tears.

The main thing I will remember is quitting is not an option. I will do this. I can do this. I want and deserve a healthy, productive life. It is all in my control.

"Health is not about the weight you lose. It's about the life you gain."

My exercise will be a mixture of treadmill walking, outdoor walking, and walking videos.

Youtube videos will give me a variety of strength training choices.

A wide variety of different exercises will help prevent boredom and will keep me motivated.

Changing to healthy eating will be achieved by gradually eliminating my unhealthy choices and replacing them with good healthy fruit and vegetable choices.

I will plan out my meals and snacks ahead. Being prepared is the key to being successful.

I will schedule my exercise for each day.

I plan to keep a record of my exercise and everything I eat.

Will I ever be perfect when it comes to diet and exercise? No, but I will significantly improve it and will be dedicated to living a healthier life.

I am doing to do a weekly check-in on my blog on my successes and, yes, even my failures. If you are working toward a healthier lifestyle also, please join in and share how you are doing and what is working for you.

For some reason, Monday always seems like a good day to start almost anything. So Monday, January 3th is it.
