Six Reasons Why I Love Blogging
Let me start by saying right up front that I know almost nothing about blogging. Okay, maybe now I know a little. But when I started my blog, I had zero knowledge of what to do. And there is still so much more for me to learn. I have just begun the journey. At least it feels that way. It is a daily learning experience. It was maybe about two years ago that someone was telling me about something they had found on Pinterest, and they were working on doing something similar in their yard. Pinterest? I had never heard of it. I had no clue what it even was. But one day, my curiosity got the better of me, and I looked up Pinterest and let me tell you you can find almost anything on Pinterest. And one interesting thing I saw was blogging. I looked at so many different blogs. There are Blogs on beauty, lifestyle, health, and fitness, home organization, personal blogs, and travel blogs. You name it. There is a blog for it. And I become hooked on the idea of blogging. And I decided I wanted to give it a try. And I am still trying, and still learning. And surprisingly, I want to keep on with it. I like it. It's challenging. But, I have to warn you it's also very frustrating at times. So let me share six reasons why I love blogging. 1. Blogging keeps my mind active and keeps me learning. When I first started considering the idea of doing a blog, I never in my wildest imagination thought there be so many things involved in blogging. It looked so simple to me. But I quickly realized that simple really couldn't describe it. It wasn't long before I realized how much I needed to learn. And now, how much I still have to learn. At my age, it's good to have something that makes me think. It's also an excellent place to express your thoughts and opinions. I remember telling someone that it was like having my very own magazine, and it is. 2. There are a lot of awesome members in the blogging community. They are helpful, inspiring, and oh so knowledgeable—a place for new friendships. And one of the best things is that you are meeting people from all over the world. So you get a chance to share your questions and thoughts with people from almost anywhere in the world. 3. The whole blogging process gives me a feeling of being creative, and I have never considered myself to be the least bit creative. So, it's a good feeling to feel at least a little creative in my small way. It starts with coming up with my blog topics, doing the necessary research, finding the right photos. And oh so many other things that go into the process. When a new blog post is published, it gives me a feeling of accomplishment. And you know what? That feels good. 4. I enjoy a feeling of pride in myself. That awesome feeling when you realize that you have learned one more new thing makes all the hard work worth it. I remember when I first started working on my blog. Even I wasn't impressed. But now, when I look at my blog, I feel pretty proud of myself. I created this. Is it perfect? Nope. Probably never will be perfect. But I keep trying to improve it.
5. Blogging is a way for me to improve my writing. I like writing. I know it needs improving, and my goal is to do that. The more I write, the more confident I feel. And the more I write, I see little improvements. So that's another plus to blogging for me. Any improvement we can make is always good.
6. Possible Income potential is what many bloggers are aiming for when they start their blog. For me, it's a slight possibility, and if I put in a lot of work, it just might be a reality at some point. But it's worth a try. What do I have to lose? Will I get rich? NO! But it's another thing to try and accomplish.
I was quite proud of myself when I signed up with Amazon for their affiliate program. I worried that it would be complicated. I kept putting it off. Then one day, I said, let's do it. My worries were for nothing; it was easy. I should clarify it easy to add to my site. But not exactly easy to start making money from it. I am certainly not going to be getting rich. Maybe soon, I will be able to buy a coffee for myself with my big earnings. But I did it, and that is all that matters. It was on my to-do list, and now it's crossed off.
Now I can move on to researching other options for monetizing my blog.
All of us need to have something that makes us feel good about ourselves. Something that challenges us and makes us think. If you are looking for something new to try, why not consider becoming a blogger. The possibilities are endless. You are in control and can make it whatever you want.
