So Many Things To Be Grateful For

Appreciate all the things we have to be grateful for.

Let's be honest the year 2020 has been a real loser. All we hear about is doom and gloom. Lockdowns, shutdowns, masks, and politics have dominated the year.

We have missed out on many things that we usually would be doing. We have had to change the way we do certain things. Life has just been a roller coaster ride. Full of ups and downs.

And as of now, we are still wondering what's in store for our future. It will soon be Thanksgiving, and Christmas naturally arrives shortly after that. What will the effect of the Covid-19 have on holiday plans?

The list of uncertainties goes on and on. But we need to stop right now and remember that life is never all bad. I am pretty sure that each one of us can come up with a list of things we have to be thankful for. When things are good, we tend to forget to acknowledge all the things we should be grateful for daily. I don't think life is ever all bad.

So despite all the turmoil in the world today, let's take a few minutes and make a list of the things we have to be grateful for. The things we sometimes take for granted.

My list-

I am alive. I had a heart attack, and I survived, and I am feeling good. Yes, I am grateful.

I have no physical pain.

I have all my senses working.

I start my morning off every day with coffee and exchanging good morning greetings with friends and family on Facebook.

I have love in abundance.

My family and friends being healthy.

I am grateful for my mother, the bond I have with my siblings and children. And all of my extended family.

I am thankful for the grandkids. They are even better than kids. Just don't tell my kids I said that. But all you grandparents know what I mean.

Friends I have had for a long time and friends I have not known for long. Friends I see in person and friends I talk to online.

I live in a free country.

I am grateful for the beautiful childhood I had.

I have food

I have electricity and heat.

I have the all-important internet.

And of course, my cell phone.

I have holidays surrounded by family.

I have the ability and the time to read.

I can enjoy the feeling of accomplishment when I achieve something I didn't think I could do.

I can enjoy laughing at silly things.

I enjoy the sun shining in the window in the morning.

I enjoy the fragrance of lavender.

Who is not grateful for chocolate?

I am thankful for the vacations—time to relax and chill.

Yes, I am grateful for cable TV.

Warm apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is always something to savor.

The events in our life that challenge us and hopefully make us a better person.

I always enjoy a summer day at the beach or a pool.

I have so many things to be grateful for in my life. And I am sure everyone else can come up with a long list of things they have to be thankful for.

When I look at the list that I have compiled, I realize that guess what? I have so many things large and small in my life that make me happy and grateful. Life is good!

I know I could keep listing things in my life that I am thankful and appreciative of, but I think I have proven my point, which is that we can always find something that makes us feel grateful.
