A Little Christmas Declutter

A Little Christmas Declutter.

Yesterday, I took down the Christmas tree and put away the decorations. While packing things away, I got to thinking about all the Christmas stuff we have stored away in the basement that we no longer use. We have had years of celebrating Christmas in this house. A lot of happy memories. And a lot of no longer used decorations and ornaments.

There are boxes of Christmas decor that are just sitting in the basement that someone might be able to use. It occurred to me that, now would be the time to go through all of it. So I did just that.

Feels good to have sorted through all of it and made plans for it. I have labeled the items that will be used again next year. I packed and marked things to be donated or given away before next Christmas. And, I set aside the things I knew my kids would like to have.

So, all in all, it was a good day. I put away the Christmas decorations and managed to do some decluttering at the same time. And I revisited some fond memories. I am pretty proud of myself that I didn't continue putting it off.

And then, I remembered there are probably more decorations and fond memories in the attic to go through. I think I will save those for another day. But, I will put that future adventure on my to-do list.
